The capital market of Bangladesh Is widely acknowledged an emerging market globally, holding significant potentIal for fostering the country's industrialization, facilitating infrastructure development and diving overall economic growth. As a result of the immense potential inherent in the capital market of Bangladesh, we have embarked on the journey into the stock brokerage industry, with the blessings of the Almighty Allah, through establishment of Skyline Securities Ltd. I extend heartfelt appreciation to each and every individual and institution who has played a pivotal role in bringing us to this significant juncture.

Over the past decade, Bangladesh has demonstrated robust economic growth, with GDP averaging 6.4%, outpacing many its peer Asian economies. This' progress is symbolic of Bangladesh's dynamic demographic landscape, marked by a surge in entrepreneurial activity, primarily due to the increased investments in the private sector. While the economy and the private sector have grown significantly, the capital market has yet to witness a similar level of growth, but it is poised to align with the economy's expansion.

Despite, the financial market faces challenges such as interest rate risk, the relatively modest scale of Bangladesh's financial sector is primarily powering the rising demand for private sector investment. This demand is driven by the burgeoning growth of infrastructure projects and the steady rise in foreign direct investment. Though the capital market's market cap-to-GDP ratio standing at a mere 20%, its current size presents an ideal landscape for facilitating long-term capital investments for the fueling the growth engine of the economy. The growth in private sector investment is expected to be guided by the capital market, serving as a catalyst for its own growth.

While the market may face midterm challenges such as size, liquidity, and accessibility, parallels can be drawn with Vietnam's market, which experienced similar constraints five years ago but has since grown fourfold in size. With Bangladesh's GDP growth maintaining momentum and its GDP per capita surpassing that of India, the stage is set for the country to bridge the gap and emerge as a significant player in the global capital market landscape.

The Bangladesh capital market is still on a path of development, but recent initiatives by the government have started to yield positive results in the development of capital market. Further implementation of investor-friendly policy reforms could significantly enhance the capital market's role, potentially positioning Bangladesh to emerge as the next Asian economic powerhouse, alongside countries like India, Vietnam and other rapidly growing economies in the region.

The capital market of Bangladesh can play a pivotal role in achieving the Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041. By mobilizing funds, promoting technological innovation in the financial sector, and fostering financial inclusion, the capital market can contribute to the overall transformation of the country's economy. With the support of all investors, clients, well-wishers, and stakeholders, Skyline Securities Ltd. will move forward, leveraging the potential of the capital market to drive this transformation.

Thanking you with sincere appreciation
